Accommodation as a Conflict Style"A 'cousin' to the avoidance style is that of accommodation, yielding or subordinating one's own concerns to those of the other person. This style can grow out of the desire to avoid conflict, or it can be due to the person's belief that his or her rights, feelings, or desires are not as important as those of others." (Smallwood)The actions and statements that, when taken together, produce an accommodating styles are typically center more on the self than virtually any of the other styles.
